About the Role
H&P has been mandated by a leading large-cap private equity fund to appoint a Private Equity Analyst, in the software sector. This is a compelling opportunity to join a well-established, institutionally backed investor with a strong track record across flagship buyout strategies.
The firm manages multi-billion-euro funds, invests across market-leading businesses, and is known for its rigorous investment process and collaborative culture. This hire is critical to supporting ongoing deal activity, portfolio management, and future fundraising initiatives. The Private Equity Analyst will work closely with senior investment professionals and gain full exposure across the investment lifecycle.
Position: Private Equity Analyst
Location: Frankfurt, Germany
Key Responsibilities
- Performing in-depth financial and valuation analysis of portfolio companies and prospective investments.
- Building and maintaining robust financial models, including operating models, forecasting, scenario analysis, and returns analysis.
- Leading the preparation of due diligence materials, investment memoranda, and internal presentations.
- Meeting regularly with senior investment professionals, management teams, and external advisors.
- Monitoring and valuing portfolio investments, including participation in investor meetings and review of financial and operating performance.
- Assisting with marketing, fundraising, and commercial efforts related to the fund’s investment activities.
- Supporting special projects, including strategic analysis, portfolio reviews, and internal initiatives.
- Collaborating closely with colleagues across the firm to support investment decision-making.
What You Bring
- 0–2 years’ experience in private equity, bulge bracket investment banking or MBB consulting
- Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills, including LBO modelling.
- Experience preparing investment memoranda, due diligence materials, and senior-level presentations.
- High attention to detail, strong commercial judgement, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- A strong academic background in finance, economics, business, or a related discipline.
