Partner – Energy Practice (Houston)

The Opportunity
A well-established national law firm is significantly expanding its energy practice in Houston and is seeking experienced partner-level attorneys to help lead that growth. This is a strategic, long-term investment in the firm’s energy platform, offering the successful candidates the opportunity to build and shape a growing team in one of the most dynamic energy markets in the country.

We welcome partner-level talent across several complementary areas of energy law. Candidates need not cover every area below — we are interested in strong practitioners in any of them who want to be part of a deliberate, well-resourced build-out.

Areas of Focus
Energy Transactions & Corporate / M&A

• Lead M&A, joint ventures, and corporate transactions across the energy sector, including oil and gas
• Advise on acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic investments for energy clients
• Support the development and financing of energy and infrastructure projects

Energy Litigation & Disputes

• Represent energy clients in complex commercial and regulatory disputes
• Handle litigation arising from energy transactions, operations, and contracts
• Advise on risk, enforcement, and dispute-resolution strategy across the energy value chain

 
Energy Finance & Tax Credits

• Advise on the financing of energy and infrastructure projects, including structured and project finance
• Structure and advise on energy-related tax credits and incentives
• Support clients in navigating the evolving energy-transition and incentive landscape

What We’re Looking For

• Partner-level experience (or senior candidates ready to operate at partner level) in one or more of the areas above
• A focus on the energy sector, with oil and gas experience particularly valued
• A portable practice or the demonstrated ability to develop business and lead client relationships
• Strong technical expertise and excellent client-facing and communication skills
• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the Texas bar (or ability to waive in)
